We do not require accounts. The contact note tool runs entirely in your browser; its contents are not transmitted to us. If you email us, we receive your email address, name and any information you include.

Our hosting provider may record standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, time) for security and reliability.

How we use it

We use emails to reply, consider story suggestions and make corrections. Our lawful basis is legitimate interest in running an editorial publication. Server logs are used to protect the site.

Retention

Correspondence is kept for up to 24 months unless it forms part of a published correction or story, in which case we keep it for as long as the record is needed. Server logs are kept for no more than 90 days.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with service providers who host the site or email, under appropriate agreements, or where required by law.

Your rights
